I don't like posting without something to say

So, I have a question to ask:
Why did the chicken(s) cross the road?

The answer is:
Because the rooster(s) are calling!

Why is this relevant, you might ask?
Because...

this is me, on a big, round haybale at my Mom and Karl's farm last weekend. Ignore the somewhat unamused smile on my face, it was windy out there, and I was staring into the sun while Rick took that picture.

We had an absolute blast while we were there, as my Mom took us shopping on Monday afternoon and we went out to the farm that evening.

Speaking of which:

those buds get the 2nd annual First Flower of the Year award, as they are the first flowers that I have seen this spring. They are from my Mom's Apricot (I think?) tree and apparently each of those buds will become fruit in the end. So as long as the deer don't come and eat all the fruit again, maybe there will be fresh fruit at the end of the summer.

Ok, so now for some knitting/spinning content, which is the whole reason why it's been two weeks since I have posted (ok, so that and my trip to Kansas).

I joined a knit/craft-a-long called Project Spectrum, see?

  • It's a really cool idea, and I'm definitely digging it. Each month will have a color theme, so you have to post something in said color sometime within the month. Also, there is a Project Spectrum postcard swap, where you swap postcards with a person assigned to you once a month in the color of the month. Sound confusing? It's really not. Follow along, it'll be great. The colors for March are pink/red (it's the only month with two colors). I will probably choose to follow along with the red side of things, and who knows what I will come up with (due to my lack of yarn in said color).

Ah, and also, Carol has some silk that is extremely addictive! I bought four silks from her recently, and they are in this order: Olympic Ice, Slinky, Dear Diary, and Crown Jewel. I'm sure you can see why they are so addictive...

Oh, it's so easy to have no self-control with colors like those. Slinky is the only one that's really not for me. Believe-it-or-not, it's for Rick to spin, as he really liked the colors and wanted to play with some silk for his Spindle.

I told myself that I would let myself go spin some silk if I got a total of 2 ounces spun of the wool/angora mix that Kae swapped me for....surprise! Kae is a Silkworker addict, too. Alright, so I told myself that we were swapping because Kae accepted the silk, but who wouldn't? It has yet to be seen if this proves true or not. Anyway, time's awastin'-I'm off to go spin me some angora!

Wow! That silk is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what it looks like spun up. And I'm glad you had a good trip!

I'm off on spring break right now, and that (small) package hasn't gone in the mail yet, but it's on the list of things to do tomorrow. I've been having a blast working on some other stuff for your reveal package, though.
